Accessibility Statement
How DeFolio approaches accessibility, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.
Our commitment
DeFolio is committed to making its website and application usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508.
Conformance status
DeFolio is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the platform meets the standard, and we are actively working on the remaining areas.
Measures we take
Accessibility is part of how we build and review the platform. Specifically:
- Every page has a skip-to-content link, landmark regions, and a logical heading structure.
- All interactive controls are reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Icon-only buttons and links carry text labels that screen readers announce.
- Text and interface colors are checked against the WCAG AA contrast minimums in both the dark and light themes.
- Status is never conveyed by color alone; a word or symbol always accompanies it.
- Charts carry a text description of the same information, and the underlying figures appear as text nearby.
- Form fields have associated labels, and errors are announced and tied to the field they belong to.
- Animations and hover motion are reduced automatically when your device requests reduced motion.
- Automated accessibility testing runs against the interface, alongside manual keyboard and screen-reader review.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- Some dense analytics tables require horizontal scrolling on small screens. The scroll region is keyboard reachable and labelled, but the experience is better on a larger screen.
- Payment pages are provided by Stripe. Their accessibility is governed by Stripe's own accessibility practices.
- Third-party news links point to external sites whose accessibility we do not control.
Feedback and how to report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on DeFolio, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as a priority and aim to respond within five business days.

Assessment approach
DeFolio evaluates its accessibility through a combination of automated testing against WCAG 2.1 Level AA rules and manual review, including keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader testing of the main flows.
